Metadata templates
Embed IPTC and EXIF metadata into every file before it reaches your destinations.

On this page
ZenTransfer applies your active metadata template to every file before forwarding it to destinations. Metadata is written into IPTC and EXIF fields inside the file itself.
What you can embed¶
Common IPTC fields:
- Creator / photographer name
- Copyright notice
- Credit line and agency affiliation
- Contact information
- Usage rights and license terms
- Caption and description
- Location (city, country)
- Keywords
Populate as many fields as the assignment requires.
Multiple templates¶
Create named templates for different work:
- Wire syndication — your credit, copyright, agency line
- Exclusive assignment — client credit and tighter rights
- Corporate event — event name and client licensing terms
- Personal archive — minimal outward-facing fields
Switching templates¶
The active template is selected from your dashboard. Switching takes one tap and applies to files that arrive after the change. Your camera configuration does not need to change between sessions.
Why embedded metadata matters¶
Copyright and credit inside the file survive downstream systems that rename files or flatten folder structures. For rights-managed work, the delivered file documents the terms active at delivery time.
